Week 9

Topic 1: Music's influence A time when I was younger I was listening to the popular music that everyone liked in middle school and it was saying things that I didn't really understand so I didn't think there was a problem until I got in trouble by my parents for listening to it. They asked me where I got this music from and how. I was really upset because I didn't understand why it was such a big deal at the time. I didn't think that my friends were listening to anything bad. I love music so much and its really hard to ask me, my favorite artists and bands, because I have such a wide variety. I love Post Malone, Russ, Yg, Chris Brown, and Rihanna. Topic 2: Campus Radio I think it would be cool for LBCC to start a radio station. I think it'd give a voice to LBCC and people to explore in the music industry and it would give people a good opportunity. I think it would be hard with all the competition with how many popular radio stations there are. I think people

Topic 1: After taking a look a the list of banned books on the ALA list I saw many that I have read before but what caught my eye was The Great Gatsby and To Kill a Mockingbird. In my own personal opinion, these are both great books with interesting outcomes and morals to the story. In To Kill a Mockingbird the story revolves around a case that remained unsolved and showed the true injustice of our federal court system all due to the fact of the skin color of a human. Now we also have the Great Gatsby a great story that shows you reality behind many things and it proves to you that not everything and everyone is what you think. Keeping students away from books like these at a young age isn't the best option in my opinion, for if you analyze history and facts it is better to expose our children to these books, therefore they learn at a young age how the world works and how they can change it, which could potentially lead to reducing bullying in schools due to racial comments. Topic #4: The movie that I will be undergoing is Baywatch. This movie stands out to me because it has some of my favorite actors. The movie has action but also has a lot of funny humor that really stood out to me. The actors they chose really played their role good.  After doing research on Baywatch I discovered information I once didn't know. The Baywatch the starred Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron was based off a series that was once on NBC. It had a similar story, pretty much lifeguards keeping their beach safe. The NBC series had 11 seasons. When they took actors for Baywatch the movie they had to each play the role of someone that was on that series. This is fascinating to me because I thought this Baywatch was an original that they just made up. Baywatch is a group of lifeguards proving they don't have to wear a police badge to solve crimes and keep their beach safe. They are much more than that. On the weekend box office, Baywatch was ranked 3rd with 23.1 million for the

Topic 1: My news sources consist of social media platforms most of all, but there is always a thought in the back of my head asking if the source is reliable. People can put a lot of false things and put inaccurate information in our heads. Another way is word of mouth and listening to the people around me and what they say. Most stuff that I am learning now about the world is in class. That is when I think its mostly a reliable source because I feel as if most of the time my teachers are unbiased. I am a busy person that doesn't have time to necessarily keep up with the news. Most of the time I see news information on social media and I know that its a fifty-fifty on being reliable and credible. I don't subscribe to or follow any political publications paywalls. I don't see why at this age and lifestyle I would. I think I would rate myself a two on this scale. In certain areas of news, I am more informed than others. I really only pay attention to sports and what I "n
